Footballers’ Christmas parties of the past tended to be the thing of legend and, quite often, public record as they inevitably got out of hand and ended up with somebody in casualty on the quiet.
The era of the mobile phone and everything happening on camera has quietened things down a bit, and so back in its January 2010 issue, FourFourTwo poked the Ghost of Christmas Past to take a shufti at some of the parties of yore. Many involved some remarkable fancy dress, as with this one from Liverpool in 1992. Rob Jones had at least come dressed for a couple of hours sobering up in protective custody.
