The March 2008 issue of The Caravan Club Magazine brought with it a reminder that the Club doesn’t merely exist to pass on tips and suggestions of how its members can get the best out of their caravan holidays.

The magazine gave full details on a new £5million investment in a new ‘supersite’ that it had opened in the New Forest, celebrating the Club’s Centenary.

Within there were 263 pitches, new reception and facilities blocks, with areas set aside for wild flowers and grasses in order to encourage wildlife to the site. There was also a centrepiece Centenary garden, under which a time capsule was set to be buried, as well as a playing field, laundry room, vegetable preparation and dishwashing areas.

You can look back on how the supersite started here.
