Although they have died out a little over the years, rare indeed was the 20th century magazine that did not employ an illustrator or cartoonist to illuminate their pages.
The Caravan Club’s En Route magazine chose to go the self-depreciating route in its March 1969 with a string of cartoons suggesting that not every caravaner knew exactly what they were doing when they got behind the wheel. It may well be that not all of these would get the nod of editorial approval these days, but as the young people say, #DifferentTimes…
