August 1969 and Shoot! has just hit the newsstands for the first time, with England captain Bobby Moore as a star columnist.
One of the great staples of Shoot! through the years was the ‘Focus’ feature, as players up and down the country had to tell us about their favourite singers, most difficult opponents, superstitions and the like.
Welsh international Terry Hennessey was the first victim, and he exposed himself here as a gourmet with a favourite meal of steak, creamed spuds, mushrooms and, get this, braised celery.
