We are in the final weeks of Jürgen Klopp’s reign at Liverpool and doubtless there will be an emotional farewell to the manager who finally brought the Premier League title to Anfield in 2020, as well as another Champions League trophy, the FIFA World Club Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, an FA Cup and two League Cups.
Klopp has been perhaps Liverpool’s most charismatic and best loved manager since the days of Bill Shankly in the 1960s and ‘70s, but as FourFourTwo demonstrated back in July 2011, the Reds are not unique in their devotion to him.
On the way to winning the first of two successive Bundesliga titles, Klopp had piloted Borussia Dortmund to a 14 point lead in January 2011. This was enough for 41-year-old Martin Huschen to get a screaming image of Klopp tattooed on his back, alongside the Bundesliga shield.
Huschen revealed that his wife had, “Nothing against lying next to Jürgen Klopp in bed”, and added that his next ambition was for Klopp to tattoo his signature onto him.
